Whirlybird formed in early 1993 when Pat and Ben met at VCU. They cycled through a few drummers before permanently adding Mike later that year.
Pat started a record label called Whirled Records to release Whirlybird’s music, as well as other Virginia bands from the time.
The band did three east coast tours and two full US tours before breaking up in late 1995.
