Some Fliers from OVOLR! artists at Twisters/Nancy Raygun/929/etc…

With the closing of Strange Matter (the latest incarnation of the punk club that has been at 929 W Grace Street, here in Richmond, for more than 30 years).. our nostalgia was stoked, and we thought we’d share some fliers from OVOLR! artists that played shows here.

First up, 500$FINE, who played their first show there when they were only 14/15 year old kids…

Lots of shows with buds Cloud 13…

and Knuckle Hed!…

local heroes Uphill Down…

..one with the Pink Lincolns(!), and fellow OVOLR! artists Indypendant (who also played a ton of shows there, but we are lacking fliers)…

…and a couple with Code 13 (Felix Von Havoc’s band after Destroy), at which one of the shows, 500$Fine’s drummer couldn’t make it because he was grounded. How fucking punk is that?. 500$Fine was 15/16 at the time…

Next up, Shitload of Pain, who played a few shows, but sadly, didn’t retain any fliers. Here is one though, for a show they played with Punk Rock stalwarts, The Varukers, as well as a younger band called ‘The Casualties’…

… and then there was Dead Serious, who played a ton of fucking shows there. (like a ton!).

…with Count Me Out, Press Your Luck and No Justice!…

a lot of shows with Down To Nothing (DTN), this one with American Nightmare and Time Flies…

DTN and Pitboss 2000…

…Barfight(!), Count Me Out, and Shark Attack…

…and Over my Dead Body, Death Threat, and Terror!….

And most recently, Park Sparrows played a bunch there…

…with the Lillingtons, Make War, and Talk Me Off…

..and with EveryMen, Matt Seymour, Walk The Plank.

So you can see, even for this small label, this club has been a hotbed of history for Richmond Punk Rock!
